Pitivi – Free video editor with stunning features and intuitive user interface

Pitivi is a free and open-source video editor for Linux. It packs very attractive features, and an intuitive user interface. It is highly polished editor, providing cutting-edge multimedia transcoding and encoding functionality.

Installing Pitivi on Ubuntu and derivatives

The Pitivi community supports a flatpak repository to let users install the latest Pitivi releases. This is the official, recommended way of installing Pitivi on Linux. The repository contains only 64-bit builds.

PREREQUISITE: You must have flatpak installed before proceeding.

Install flatpak (Skip this section if you already have flatpak installed)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexlarsson/flatpak
sudo apt update
sudo apt install flatpak

To install the latest stable Pitivi release, run as a normal user (no root nor sudo):

flatpak install --user http://flatpak.pitivi.org/pitivi.flatpakref

You can now launch Pitivi from your applications menu as any other installed application.

To see if warning or error messages are printed in the console, run:

flatpak run org.pitivi.Pitivi//stable
